Funding process

Who can be funded?

At Migros Culture Percentage Sparx, every idea and every group that is part of the cultural sector and of which at least 2/3 are between the ages of 18 and 28 is welcome. In particular, we are looking for ideas that tackle socially and politically relevant issues.

How does the funding process work?

1. Call for ideas

During the call for ideas, you and your group submit your idea to Sparx.

2. Selection

Ideas will be chosen to receive Sparx funding as part of a two-step process.

The first step is a pre-selection stage, in which applicants will be reviewed to ensure that they comply with the Conditions of Participation. Next, the submitted documents will be anonymized and sent to the Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee is made up of seven individuals between the ages of 18 and 28 who have been nominated for the committee by Sparx partners. The Selection Committee decides which groups and ideas will receive support during the Sparx Studio period. During this process, only the content of the text fields from the application form will be considered; no additionally provided links, images, or PDFs will be reviewed.

3. Sparx Studio

Two to four people per group may participate in the Sparx Studio. During this four-month period, participants individually develop their ideas. Coaches meet regularly with the groups and offer their support. Individual coaching is a key aspect of the Sparx Studio period. Participants do not need to create any finished products during these four months. Five Studio Days offer participants an opportunity to network and further develop ideas, and offer new inspiration through workshops and input from experts.

Every participant receives CHF 6,000 in funding for the duration of the Sparx Studio period. This funding is split up into four monthly payments of CHF 1,500 per person.
