Cosmos

With the Sparx Cosmos, Migros Culture Percentage Sparx makes a guest appearance at cultural events in Switzerland every fall. With an adapted program, the work of young cultural creators is shown, actors from culture are networked with each other, and any questions about the Call for Ideas are answered.

2023 Sparx Cosmos took place from September 1-2 at the Youth Culture Festival in Basel. At Barfüsserplatz, Sparx offered an interactive program of virtual reality, textile printing, popcorn snacks and inspiring talks.

With us were:

Marianne Simmen, Ida Buch and Nina Baumann (Studio Group 2023) are textile designers. They take a critical view of the overproduction of textile products and dedicate their project to the problems of their industry from an artistic perspective. The workshop teaches a conscious approach to textiles and natural colours. Together, they will print and exhibit a naturally stained and dyed fabric using a stamping process developed especially for the workshop.

Hanh-Dung Nguyen (Studio Group 2022) transforms an old Opel Blitz into a relaxing and interactive 3D sound space. Equipped with VR headsets, visitors immerse themselves like raindrops in a virtual garden and bring it to bloom together.

Agregat Studio (studio groups Pedalo & Voyage, 2023) paraded with the Cargo Bike through the whole JKF and decorated the skin of the visitors with live and as desired illustrated temporary tattoos.
